Community meetings
The AI-free zone
A place where big ideas are shared - around AI and beyond. From ideas we spring into action. Open to members and non-members alike.
What it is
Twenty people in a park is enough. A speaker sets out a proposal and makes the case for it, and then the floor takes over. What matters is that the idea is specific enough to disagree with.
It is called an AI-free zone because of what happens in it. Humans working with humans. Nothing is banned and nobody is searched at the door. Anyone can come, and most of the people there will not be members.
The topic changes every month. We provide material and support for anyone who wants to host one. If you want to try it, reach out and we will help you set it up.
The proposal
One speaker, one idea, argued for.
The debate
Open floor. Anyone can take it.
What we do about it
The room decides, and names who is doing it.

Who speaks
We invite people worth crossing a city for. Writers, researchers, union organisers, politicians, people who build these systems and people who have been on the wrong end of them.
Where
A park, a square, a bookshop, a union hall, a room at a university. It costs nothing, and in most cities it needs no permission at all.
What it leads to
Every gathering ends with something to do. When an idea holds up under an hour of argument, the movement takes it up and campaigns on it. The people who argued for it run that campaign.
Host one
It asks for no budget, no office and no permission. If you have never organised anything before, we will help you. Fill in the form and we will send you the material and a checklist to get started.
